COURAGE & COTTON CANDLES

Founded by Lisa Hicks Gilbert, Courage & Cotton Candles is a company based in Elaine, Arkansas that strives to empower racially marginalized and underrepresented communities through handcrafted candles with implemented storytelling and historical narration that illustrate Elaine and the community it fosters.

The logo serves to reflect the bravery and grievances of Black Americans throughout history since slavery while acknowledging the significance of the Christian faith in strengthening many affected communities. The final result is an elegant, yet passionate mark that seeks to challenge the negative perceptions surrounding cotton to which it is proudly embraced. The mark is a bearing torch, lighting a path towards a brighter future consisting of community pride, unity, and inclusive education.
